We know that the learning process in a flight school is all about getting the experience from actually doing what’s supposed to be done: Fly. However, this fact does not necessarily mean taking off on an airplane but through a Flight School Simulator, which becomes a safer and financially wiser option nowadays.

We had a talk with Brittney Miculka from RedBird, a company dedicated to the technology of flight school simulator, and she shared with all of us some insights on how a sim can help you and your flight school business.

1. Flight school simulator should be used from the beginning

The sim is an attractive way to reach and impact the prospect student with something related to flying already, right after just showing up at the flight school and, from there, learn if the flight school is actually the right thing for you.

2. Student retention increases with a sim

Brittney shares that has seen an increase on the retention of the students on flight schools that use simulators, which is extremely important for you, since they become part of your school family by staying with you and your flight school.

3. Instrument ratings are improved

The fact that a flight school simulator is used at your flight school improves the abilities of your student pilots, improving the instrument ratings and the skills they gain, since the sim can be programmed for different circumstances that your student would not face just by flying, all in a safe and secured way.

4. Take recreational pilots to the next level

Several flight schools focus on recreational pilots, but by having a simulator it provides a tool to attract these pilot students to the next level and upsell them, which becomes a win-win situation for you and your students.

Thanks to Brittney we have a clearer panorama for a flight school owner thinking about getting into the simulator technology and now know that it is a more accessible way to attract more students.
