Marketing solutions should have one goal in mind and that is to increase sales. To achieve that goal, it is important to create an integrated marketing solution so that all of your marketing efforts work together to build awareness of your company, convince people to purchase from you rather than your customer and create long-term relationships with consumers so that they return to purchase from you again. These tips can help you integrate solutions to achieve those missions.
Create a Strategy
The first step in integrating your marketing solutions is to create a strategy. You won’t achieve your goals if you don’t have a plan. You need to review the online marketing you plan to do, such as identifying what social media outlets are best suited for your industry as well as creating an optimized, professional website. You should then review your traditional marketing to learn how you can connect it to online marketing. For example, a postcard could contain a QR Code that takes the recipient to an online discount coupon.
Blended Content
One way to integrate your marketing strategy is to blend your content throughout your marketing. Include links to your social media outlets in emails or in print advertising. Mention your online outlets in radio advertising. Add QR codes to print media that take the reader to your website or social media pages. Allow users to sign up for email newsletters or promotions and include coupons or discounts in those emails periodically.
Target Market
Before integrating marketing solutions, it is important to recognize who your target market is. Different demographics prefer between online marketing vs advertising channels. Younger consumers who were born and raised in today’s technological era may be more attracted to electronic communications, such as social media, mobile apps or email. However, it is important to remember that older consumers, those considered to be Baby Boomers, are also using the internet to get information. In fact a United States Census Bureau report recently found that people over the age of 65 spend as much as $7 billion a year online. In addition, 75 percent of people over the age of 50 are grandparents and they purchase 25 percent of the toys sold in the country, so it is important to remember that your target market could include a wider range of consumers than you initially believed.
Traditional Media
Traditional marketing solutions are still alive and well. Bulk mailing, newspaper and radio advertising can still be an excellent way to reach consumers. In fact, 79 percent of consumers say they act on direct mail advertising immediately, as opposed to only 45 percent who say they respond immediately to email. Consumers also report that they would prefer receiving email marketing information from local businesses via regular mail while 50 percent they prefer email for events and competitions. This last statistic indicates why integrating solutions is critical. If your company is planning an event, such as an anniversary celebration, sending an email invitation would be the best way to reach local consumers and invite them to the event. However, you can integrate the preference for regular mail with email for the event by mentioning in the email that consumers should “watch their mailbox” for a coupon that can only be used that day.
